Overview

Infused with tradition yet still offering elegant luxuries, VARU By Atmosphere is a beautiful retreat located along the north-west coast of the Male Atoll.

Named after a native Maldivian term implicating strength and life in abundance, VARU By Atmosphere is full of life, boasting four fabulous restaurants and fantastic activities for the whole family to enjoy, including snorkelling excursions and a cool kid’s club.

The accommodation adopts a classic Maldivian style, with lots of bare wood, white décor and stunning ocean views. Our favourites are the Water Villas: split across three jetties, these lovely villas boast direct access to the lagoon from the deck.

There is a choice of four restaurants, ready to tantalise your taste buds. Lime & Chili offers all day dining, whilst Kaagé is great for those hoping to try a taste of authentic Maldivian cuisine. In the afternoon, spend your hours in the sun sipping refreshing cocktails at the pool bar, Bay Rouge.

The resort is located in the North Male Atoll, a secluded and serene area that is just a 40-minute transfer by speedboat from Male International Airport.

There are 108 villas altogether, all including:

  • Water Villa – Split across three jetties jutting out along the south-west side of the island, these gorgeous over-water villas boast direct access to the lagoon.
  • Beach Villa with Pool – Located on the sugary beach, these wonderful villas have glass sliding doors that open out to beautiful views, with the additional of a private pool.
  • Water Villa with Pool – Perched along three jetties, these glorious villas offer direct lagoon access from their lovely 10sqm private pool.
  • Two Bedroom Beach Villa – Spacious villas located right on the beach.
  • Two Bedroom Beach Villa with Pool – Offering the same amenities as before, plus a private pool for family to splash around in.
  • Majlis Suite – A three bedroom suite, built around a beautiful courtyard with a private pool, An exclusive three bedroom unit surrounded by tropical gardens and easy access to the beach, the three bedrooms are built around a beautiful courtyard and comes with a 45m² private plunge pool, ocean views from the living-dining room, an adjoining mini-library and a room for the au pair.

  • Lime & Chili – The gorgeous main restaurant offering delicious all-day dining, including a tasty fresh buffet and fun live cooking stations. Open for Breakfast from 7am - 10am daily, Brunch from 12pm - 3pm every Tuesday, Lunch from 12:30pm - 14:30pm daily and Dinner from 7pm - 10pm daily
  • Kaagé – A warm and welcoming Maldivian restaurant, perfect for those wanted an authentic taste of island dining.
    Open for lunch every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays, and dinner daily except Fridays
  • Charcoal – A fantastic grill restaurant with a divine menu of barbecued meats
    Open for dinner only, every day except Fridays
  • NU – A sophisticated, Mediterranean seafood restaurant, serving up freshly caught fish with ocean views.
    Open for lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and dinner every day except Fridays
  • Bay Rouge – The main pool bar, ideal for a refreshing cocktail in the sunshine.

The VARU Plan includes:

  • Complimentary airport transfer by speedboat on arrival and departure
  • A glass of Champagne on arrival

  • Gala dinner every Friday at Lime & Chili (all other dining outlets will be closed for dinner) and Asian Theme Night on Wednesdays

  • Speciality Fine Dining at Kaage, Nu and Charcoal open for lunch and dinner on a pre-booking basis, based on availability and inclusive off beverages from the VARU PLAN beverage menu. Eligibility per person per stay depending on number of nights in resort:
    3 nights = one meal
    4-5 nights = two meals
    6-7 nights = three meals
    8-10 nights = four meals
    Above 10 nights = additional one meal for every 3 night stay
  • Premium brands of spirits, beer and a global selection of 40 wines at Bay Rouge, Lime & Chili, and the three speciality restaurants, Nu, Kaagé and Charcoal
