This Japan tour makes full use of the country’s renowned public transportation system. From the high-speed Shinkansen Bullet Train to the extensive local bus network in Kyoto, we travel like the locals, offering a truly immersive experience.

Please note, this trip involves a fair amount of walking every day, so it's important to have an average level of fitness and be able to walk unaided for extended periods. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended.

Luggage
We include a baggage transfer service as part of the tour, so you won’t need to carry your bags on and off trains while traveling. However, please be aware that your luggage will not be accessible during city-to-city transfers and will only be available the following day. On these days, we suggest packing an overnight bag with any essentials or valuables you may need during the transit.

Luggage Size Restriction (Effective May 2020): Shinkansen Bullet Trains have strict luggage size limits. Any baggage brought on board must measure no more than 160 cm in total (length + width + height), which is generally the size limit for most airline "carry-on" items. Since we are providing city-to-city luggage transfers, this restriction applies to your carry-on luggage on the trains.
