Enjoy a vivacious coastal experience

Tucked up in the north east corner of Australia, Queensland is home to sprawling cities, virtually year-round sunshine, divine beaches and the Great Barrier Reef. Brisbane is the bustling state capital and one of the fastest growing cities in Australia – in fact, more Australian’s move here every year than anywhere else in the country.  

Just south of Brisbane, the brash and glamorous Gold Coast lives up to its name with a colourful trio of buttery beaches, dazzling sunshine and the ubiquitous bronze skin. To the south of the state capital, the Sunshine Coast is very different in terms of ethos, if not aesthetics – life here is tranquil and relaxing.

Head to the north of the state and you’ll find Cairns – the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and a fantastic city in its own right. Of course, the Reef offers fantastic opportunities for some of the best scuba diving in the world, but there a number of other joys here too.

One of our favourites is the Whitsunday Islands, a beautiful archipelago of 74 islands. There are lovely resorts dotted across the stunning landscape, with the kind of views you’d only normally find in your daydreams.
